easyDCP: Quick Settings Reference

This reference provides the recommended settings for viewing Digital Cinema Packages (DCPs) and multimedia files with easyDCP at the Post Production Center (PPC).

Important Info Before Changing Settings

Before altering any settings in the screening rooms, please note:

  • The television is calibrated. Do not make any image or audio adjustments in the TV settings.

  • These recommendations are specific to the screening rooms at the PPC.

TV Settings

  1. If the TV screen is blue or reports an input error, first:

    1. Using the tv remote, select menu on the left

    2. Select Connected Devices

    3. Select HDMI 4

    4. Press play in easyDCP

  2. If the TV issues continue, use the TV remote to begin on the TV homepage.

  3. From menu on the left side of the screen, select Menu

  4. In the Menu page, select Settings

  5. Under Settings, select All Settings

  6. In the All Settings page, select Connection

  7. In the Connection page, select External Device Manager

  8. Ensure AnyNet is not enabled.

  9. Select Input Signal Plus

  10.  Within the Input Signal Plus page, deselect all inputs

  11.  Close the menu and return to HDMI Input 4.

    1. It may be necessary to press play in easyDCP to see DCP on screen.

easyDCP Basic Settings

  1. Launch easyDCP from the dock and open your DCP file.

  2. Click SDI in the bottom menu bar, and set it to DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K

  3. Click Color Transform in the bottom menu bar, and set it to X’Y’Z’ -> R’G’B’ Legal Range (Rec BT.709)

    1. If your color does not immediately appear different on the TV, you may need to repeat this step. On occasion, this setting must be set twice.

easyDCP Advanced Settings: Opening Options

  1. Click File on the top menu bar.

  2. From the File menu, select Options

easyDCP Advanced Settings: Video

  1. In Video Options, under General, ensure that:

    1. Rendering Device: NVIDIA RTX A4000

    2. V-Sync: checked, currently on

easyDCP Advanced Settings: Audio

  1. In Audio Options, under General, ensure that:

    1. Host: ASIO

    2. Output Device: 8 channels - Blackmagic Audio

  2. In Audio Options, under Current Audio device, ensure that:

    1. Latency: -220ms

  3. In Audio Options, under Channel Mapping, ensure that:

    1. Input Channel Order: Default Fallback: Wildtrack Format/ISDCF (HI/VI-N in ⅞)

    2. Output Channel Mapping: 5.1 - F24

easyDCP Advanced Settings: HD-SDI

  1. In HD-SDI Options, ensure that:

    1. Enable HD-SDI output: checked

    2. Device: DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K

    3. Mode: 2160p24 (3840 x 2160)

    4. Color Depth: 24 Bit RGB

    5. Levels: Automatic

    6. Image processing: Vulkan

    7. Show video also in canvas: checked

    8. Enable HD-SDI video frame statistics: unchecked

easyDCP Advanced Settings: JPEG 2000, Timeline

  1. In JPEG 2000 Options, ensure that:

    1. Make 4K resolution level available: checked

  2. In Timeline Options, ensure that:

    1. Color Space: RGB (ITU-R BT.709 Full Range) - Gamma 2.4

  3. When done selecting your settings, click Apply.
